I've heard the notion that the Old Corps existed in China in the mid-1930s and ended when they were pulled out before WWII and sent to The Philippines.  It seems to me that you would have missed that Old Corps by your failure to be out of nappies at the time... ...but my various readings could be wrong.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: We need some younger Marines in our group, so we can tell them old sea stories (often called BS) about the "Old Corps". Harvey
