References to "the Old Corps" are SOP when older Marines are talking to younger Marines, no matter the time period. Since I'm an older Marine, to any Marine who is younger than 75, I'm "the Old Corps".
But I could never refer to myself as part of the "Old Breed", since I never served in the 1st Marine Division, who were often called that. Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I've heard the notion that the Old Corps existed in China in the mid-1930s and ended when they were pulled out before WWII and sent to The Philippines. It seems to me that you would have missed that Old Corps by your failure to be out of nappies at the time... ...but my various readings could be wrong. |
