As I posted before my grandson is a Corporal, Fox, 2/6. From what I have seen of my grandson and some of his friends he has brought home with him a few times I think the "New Breed" are just as hard core as the "Old Breed" and possibly in better overall better physical shape. No "junk" food in the mess hall that's for sure.
Did I tell you what they had to do in California last February when they were in the high Sierra for winter training? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: References to "the Old Corps" are SOP when older Marines are talking to younger Marines, no matter the time period. Since I'm an older Marine, to any Marine who is younger than 75, I'm "the Old Corps". But I could never refer to myself as part of the "Old Breed", since I never served in the 1st Marine Division, who were often called that. Harvey |
