How did Breakfree CLP do??
I've used it for many years, and works for me. If memory serves me, it's had several different formulations over the years. I received 2 quart bottles from the armorer at Dobbins AFB when we started talking guns on one service call. HGW |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Mark, I was just looking at the independent Comprehensive Corrosion test of 46 gun products. I posted the test results on the forum some time ago. The outstanding products for Corrosion Protection lasting 192 hours in a salt spray test were: Rust Prevent, WD 40 Specialist and Hornady One Shot. Barricade lasted for 48 hours so no where as good as the other three. The outstanding products for lowest Coefficient of Static Friction were: One Shot the lowest by a good margin. Barricade was second best. Rust Prevent wasn't even close to One Shot or Barricade. Rust Prevent was in the middle group of products. So Rust Prevent may not be as good for lubricating moving parts. I have use Hornady One Shot for a couple of years. It is a dry lube once the carrier evaporates and provides excellent Corrosion Protection. I haven't found anything about One Shot that I dislike. I guess it could be a little cheaper to buy. Frank |
