While I like both the PD and the P9S, I wouldn't buy one today unless it was NIB and came with more than 2 magazines. I know, wishful thinking, eh?  
I would, however, consider buying another 9mm Lightweight Commander, even if it was used. Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'd actually like to get a Star PD again, but making sure the PD was in good shape, or getting a replacement for a long discontinued pistol concerns me. Frankly the same concern is true for a P9S, although acquiring one of those is less likely due to their collector status and high price today. While some companies make buffers for other guns besides the 1911 (the AK comes to mind), I'm not sure older discontinued guns are covered. I haven't really looked into it though....
