Hi Craig:
Thanks for your response. I just can't wrap my head around plastic that advanced in 1940, but those (after market?) stocks might have been added later. Bakelite was pretty popular then, but wasn't very "exotic". I doubt that there were any advanced polymers at that time either. A friend of mine, a WWII vet, did what a lot of GIs did at that time, made clear grips from airplane cockpit "glass" and then inserted photos of wives or girlfriends under the clear grips of pistols. Since he didn't have a girlfriend at the time, he embedded SS "death's head" badges in the clear grips -- quite attractive in a morbid way. Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Harvey, I've got a Benjamin 132 air pistol (22 cal) from about the same time/era. A bit later (1945-1946) It has similar stocks that are made out of plastic. Here is a link to one similar to mine |
