What made you consider s 9mm originally? If defensive use is the goal, a 9mm snub beats a .38 snub any day, as far as ballistics and all that entails. I'll take a longer barrel .38 that can make use of the better .38 ammo, but even though a lot of people carry .38 snubs, they are weak.
Note that most people are carrying lightweight .38 ammo in their snubs, around the same bullet weights as 9mm loads--but the .38s are hundreds of FPS slower. Start there and talk yourself out of a .38. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Smith and Wesson 940 Steel J-Frame. Expensive and out of production. Problems I had were with sticky extraction and cheap moon clips. The juice is not worth the squeeze as prices are just stupid. This is what I've been seeing. Sad. What are your thought on .38? Preferably a 3" barrel. |
