When my friend and I were building ARs for sale at gun shows, we always put together a few with the triangular hand guards and 20" barrels. It just was reminiscent of Vietnam, and I guess some of the vets related to that configuration. Personally, I didn't care for the triangular hand guards, but YMMV. Harvey
