I was a good group shooter with a rifle if conditions were good. But I never learned to dope wind and mirage, which means I was not a good group shooter with a rifle. And I was not a natural with a handgun. I just worked very hard at the two secrets of handgun shooting: front sight and trigger squeeze. It's odd that my serious groups from a bench were not good with a handgun. I'm sure it was just something about my technique that a good coach would spot right away and help me straighten it out. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Were you bored with shooting groups because you were such a natural at it and it was too easy? (Serious question, not blowing smoke here--remember, I've seen you shoot handguns, at least, and know you are a natural talent.) |
