I had a "good acquaintance" at my club about 20 years ago who was still big into metallic silhouette and he shot T/Cs religiously, but of his large collection, I don't think a single one had a factory barrel. That suggests to me that you are spot on about the barrels. And your and Herb's shooting of the Bulberry certainly adds evidence on your behalf.
I always wanted a T/C myself, early on a Contender carbine, then later an Encore when they came out, but I now it seems a custom barrel would be the way to go if really good groupability is desired. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I've got a TC Contender carbine, chambered in .223 but it is not extremely accurate. That is probably mostly a function of the factory barrel not being as good as it could be. I don't recall shooting an Encore, other than the one that Herb owned. That rifle was very very accurate. |
