I've flown in the DC-3 commercial version in the late 50's , and the C-119 Flying Boxcar in the early '60's.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I did notice that the article didn't mention the Confederate name. The inference seemed to be that it was always "Commemorative" which we know just ain't the case! The closest I ever came to the thrill if a WWII military plane was a ride from Cleveland to New Orleans in a stripped-out military C47. Quite noisy and uncomfortable but I suspect nothing compared to the roar and shake of two more props and engines in a B17! Stu |
