I've been marginally aware of them since that offer to sell me one but not much more until TJ started talking about them here, I think. I was quite surprised that the thumb safety-looking thingy was really a take-down lever! I'll have to look into something showing me the guts of the Radom so I can figure that out one of these days.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I was teasing, but the Radom, or Vis wz35, is somewhat unknown to many gun guys other than collectors, even though it was produced in large numbers and is not rare. And it has lines similar to a 1911. In truth though many pistols have lines like a 1911 but completely different innards--like many of the Spanish pistols that sellers often describe as "Spanish 1911s," not knowing any better. Bottom line, you're really not alone in not knowing what the levers are for on a "Radom." Radom, by the way, while being the name many associate with the Model 35 pistol, is actually Radom, Poland, the city where these pistols were originally made. |
