I'd have to buy .38 ammo, don't have any. I have plenty of 9mm. That's basically it. .38 isn't out of consideration though. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: What made you consider s 9mm originally? If defensive use is the goal, a 9mm snub beats a .38 snub any day, as far as ballistics and all that entails. I'll take a longer barrel .38 that can make use of the better .38 ammo, but even though a lot of people carry .38 snubs, they are weak. Note that most people are carrying lightweight .38 ammo in their snubs, around the same bullet weights as 9mm loads--but the .38s are hundreds of FPS slower. Start there and talk yourself out of a .38. |
